We are delighted to announce that the magnificent sum of £2500 was raised at this year’s Swingtime in Dorchester Borough Gardens. This is our best total yet and we thank everyone who came and enjoyed the music and sunshine and helped us make the event such a success.

This year we were pleased to be joined by the nurses from the Fortuneswell Unit whose Human Fruit Machine generated lots of interest (and noise!). We thank the Dave Bowen Band, Purbeck Big Band and Mill Street Jazz Band who, as every year, kindly played for us without fees and without whom the event could not take place. Our thanks also go to Dorchester Classic Vehicle Club who brought along their cars to show, Casterbridge Kennels for donating the hamper for the raffle and all our family and friends who ran the craft and bric-a-brac stalls, the tea, cakes and ice-cream stall and the other games.

From generous donations throughout the year, The Fortuneswell Cancer Trust funds a reflexology service for patients attending the Fortuneswell Unit at Dorset County Hospital and this year at Swingtime, Abbigail Langstone-Wring and her team of reflexologists offered taster sessions for a donation. This proved very popular and Abbigail and her team were very busy throughout the day. Our thanks go to everyone.
